Where R.I. businesses rank on Fortune 1000 list

PROVIDENCE – Seven companies headquartered in Rhode Island made the 2017 Fortune 1000, led by CVS Health Corp. The list, which ranks the top 1,000 U.S. companies based on their yearly revenue, included CVS Health, Textron Inc., United Natural Foods Inc., Citizens Financial Group Inc., Hasbro Inc., FM Global, and Amica Mutual Insurance Co.

Of the seven companies, three Rhode Island businesses made the top 500. CVS Health ranked the highest of any Rhode Island based company at No. 7, with a $177.53 billion in yearly revenue. CVS and Textron have both made the top 500 23 times. United Natural Foods has made the top 500 five times, Citizens Financial Group, twice, and Hasbro twice. However, the toy company missed the top 500 distinction by 9 spots this year.
