R.I. Hospitality Association’s Singleton named to R.I. Career and Technical Education board

CRANSTON – Heather R. Singleton, the Rhode Island Hospitality Association’s chief operating officer, has been appointed as a member of the R.I. Career and Technical Education board of trustees.

The association said the board was formed in 2014 and intended to give higher priority to career and technical education in Rhode Island.

As a board member, Singleton will advise R.I. Education Commissioner Angélica Infante-Green and the R.I. Board of Education on developing a biannual state plan for career and technical education and on policies that state officials should pursue to strengthen and modernize that education, the association said.

The board will also provide financial oversight on all career and technical education investments, both locally and at the federal level, the association said.
