Report: 3 Brown educators named among top 200 most influential in U.S.

PROVIDENCE – Brown University education faculty members Kenneth Wong, Matthew Kraft and John Papay were each ranked within the top 200 most influential university-based educators in the latest Rick Hess Straight Up Edu-Scholar Public Influence rankings published earlier this year.

Wong is the Walter and Leonore Annenberg professor of education policy, a professor of international and public affairs, a professor of political science and chair of the education department. He was ranked No. 120 on the list. His research focuses on the politics of education, federalism, education policy innovation, outcome-based accountability and governance redesign.

Kraft, ranked No. 145 in the RHSU list, is an assistant professor of education. His research looks at efforts to improve educator and organizational effectiveness in the K-12 academic environment of public schools.

Papay, an assistant professor of education, researches teacher policy, the economics of education and teacher labor markets. He was ranked No. 196 on the list.

No faculty members from other colleges and universities in Rhode Island or Bristol County, Mass., were ranked on the list.
