Rhode Island arts community receives $95,000

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Two Rhode Islanders and two Rhode Island organizations have been awarded a totoal of $95,000 in grants from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) to support arts education, theater, dance, and music projects. Denise Duhamel of Woonsocket, and Forrest Gander, of Barrington, will each receive $20,000 grants for projects in creative literature. Brown University will receive a grant of $15,000 to support the development and production of a new musical and Trinity Repertory Company will receive $40,000 to support a production of John Irving’s The Cider House Rules.
