WARWICK – Rhode Island College was awarded a $1.1 million U.S. Department of Education grant to provide opportunities for disadvantaged students to pursue doctorate degrees, the Rhode Island delegation announced Thursday. The grant, called the Ronald E. McNair Postbaccalaureate Achievement grant, will be distributed over five years to first-generation college students preparing for graduate school.…
