RIHCA presents Fessler with clinical leadership award

WARWICK – The Rhode Island Health Center Association honored Dr. Sarah Fessler, chief medical officer and practicing family medicine physician at East Bay Community Action Program, with the Clinical Leadership Award on Oct. 16.

RIHCA presented Fessler with the award at the Crowne Plaza Providence-Warwick in Warwick during a breakfast meeting celebrating the organization’s 45th anniversary.

RIHCA President and CEO Jane A. Hayward, as well as Dennis Roy, president and CEO of East Bay Community Action Program and board chair of RIHCA, made opening remarks to welcome more than 130 attendees.

Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse, D-R.I., attended the event and made brief remarks in support of Rhode Island’s health centers. Other members of the congressional delegation, including Sen. Jack F. Reed, D-R.I., Rep. James Langevin, D-R.I., and Rep. David Cicilline, D-R.I., provided videotaped remarks to recognize RIHCA’s 45th anniversary.
