PROVIDENCE – Author H.P. Lovecraft, a Providence native, will be the focus of a walking tour, which takes place during the 10th annual Flickers’ Vortex Sci-Fi, Fantasy & Horror Film Festival.

Hosted by the Rhode Island International Film Festival from Oct. 16-22 and led by the Rhode Island Historical Society, the itinerary takes its inspiration from Lovecraft’s “Providence Stories,” which were written between 1924 and 1935. Specific sites include Prospect Terrace, the First Baptist Church and structures on Benefit Street as well as Lovecraft’s former home, locales mentioned in “The Case of Charles Dexter Ward,” “The Haunter of the Dark,” “The Shunned House” and “The Call of Cthulhu.”
