The Rhode Island Veterinary Medical Association (RIVMA) has elected Dr. Christina Lorenson as President. She will preside over the RIVMA – a 200-plus member organization that seeks to advance veterinary medicine and its relationship to public health and agriculture and to provide timely information and resources to the public. Dr. Lorenson is the owner of Wickford Veterinary Clinic.
Dr. Lorenson has been a strong member of the Board for several years. She is a graduate of Michigan State University and Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine. She has consistently promoted exercise for people’s dogs as a way of encouraging healthy exercise habits in humans. Dr. Lorenson is an avid runner and cyclist and a Girl Scout Troop Leader. She lives with her husband and three children in Coventry.
