Rockland builds asset-based business with former Webster Bank staffers

ROCKLAND – The Boston Business Journal reported Monday that Rockland Trust Company, the operating subsidiary of Independent Bank Corp., has recruited a team of commercial bankers from Webster Bank.
BBJ noted that Rockland Trust had hired former Webster executive Chris O’Connor in early August as a senior vice president. Subsequently the community bank announced that four more Webster staffers were joining O’Connor to pursue asset-backed finance business for Rockland Trust.
The bank said that its commercial loan portfolio has increased over the last five years.
