PROVIDENCE – Roger Williams University’s Center for Workforce and Professional Development, along with CVS Health Corp., is reprising its program, the executive learning series for diverse suppliers, for a third year, a press release from RWU said Monday.

The program is intended to expand small businesses’ relationship and train companies in finance and budget, leadership, management, technology, human resources and communications.

In the release, Raul Suarez‐Rodriguez, CVS Health’s manager of supplier diversity, said, “the executive learning series for diverse suppliers allows us to deepen our partnerships with small business owners and invest in their development by creating training programs that expand their capacity, skill level and growth potential.”

Applications for the training program will be accepted through May 22. Fifteen partners will be selected. The courses will take both in person and online. The program begins July 14.

Requirements for suppliers to qualify for the program include having been in business for at least three years, having between $500,000 and $5 million in annual revenue over the last three years, and also being a supplier of one or more of the professional services listed on the eligibility and criteria section of the RWU website.

“We work with our corporate partners to create a customized learning experience that meet their specific industry needs or organizational goals today and the future,” Jamie E. Scurry, dean of RWU’s School of Continuing Studies, said in a statement. “The distinctive programming created by the Center for Workforce and Professional Development exemplifies our mission of meeting the needs of industry, families, communities and the state. We are dedicated to working collaboratively to ensure current and prospective employees are exceptionally prepared for career advancement and emerging career pathways.”
