WARWICK – The city will solicit bids this winter for a series of improvements to the playground at Salter Grove Memorial Park.
The project will include removal of the existing play structure, installation of four swings and a new play structure that includes a net climber, slide, pod steppers and other components.
The site will also be made accessible to people who use wheelchairs and a dedicated handicapped parking space will be created on the entry road. Safety surfacing will be installed below all elevated play structures.
The project will be financed through a $100,000 state grant and a grant through the Rhode Island Foundation. The park is located off Narragansett Parkway.
Work is expected to begin in April, with a completion date set for July.
