NEWPORT – A multimedia exhibition chronicling the story of a group of Rhode Islanders’ Vietnam War-era activism and the reaction of their community, “Seeking Shelter: A Story of Place, Faith and Resistance,” is currently on display at Salve Regina University’s McKillop Library and open to the public.

The exhibit details the experiences of Father Daniel Berrigan and William Stringfellow, a theologian and civil rights lawyer, respectively. Throughout the 1960s, both individuals strongly advocated against the war and campaigned for civil rights, social justice, nuclear disarmament and the environment.

The exhibit was supported by the Rhode Island Council for the Humanities, the Roosa Fund of Block Island Ecumenical Ministries Inc., the Seedworks Film Foundation, the Puffin Foundation and other donors. Its final day is April 15.
