Sea Corp. awarded $25.1M contract for U.S., Australian navies

MIDDLETOWN – Systems Engineering Associates Corp. was awarded a $25.1 million contract to provide engineering services for the U.S. Navy and the Royal Australian Navy’s current and future submarines, the company announced Monday. SEA Corp.’s subcontractors will provide services and materials to the Undersea Warfare Combat Systems Department of the Naval Undersea Warfare Center in Newport.

The work Sea Corp. was awarded includes platform engineering, advanced system engineering, and test and evaluation services.

“Sea Corp. and our teammates look forward to continued demonstration of our expertise in Submarine Platform Engineering in execution of this contract,” senior vice president David Cadorette said. “We have been providing superior engineering and technical services to the Undersea Warfare Combat System Department of NUWC Newport for over 30 years. We are excited to apply our experience and capabilities to Columbia Class program engineering efforts as well as continued efforts in support of the Virginia Class, SWFTS programs and Royal Australian Navy Submarine Programs.”

The company currently employs more than 400 people in the state.

Sea Corp. provides a variety of systems and engineering services primarily to Department of Defense customers. It has won a number of contracts with the U.S. Navy, including a $1.5 million contract to work on unmanned undersea vehicles, a $15.4 million contract to support U.S. Navy Strike Systems, and an $800 million contract to support U.S. Navy radio frequency systems.
