NORTH PROVIDENCE – SecurityRI has welcomed Robert Gryta and Quentin Small as new managers of its IT and cybersecurity team, the company announced Monday.
“Gryta and Small’s extensive IT background [makes them] a perfect addition to our team of security professionals,” said Jon Volatile, managing partner of SecurityRI, in a release. “With ransomware and other malicious software attacks hijacking thousands of computers worldwide and bringing businesses to a halt, our goal is to help individuals and organizations plan and prepare.”

Gryta joins SecurityRI as its new sales and general manager, after leaving his previous role as the vice president of sales for CourseTrends, a golfing industry marketing firm based in Austin, Texas. According to his profile on LinkedIn, Gryta has nearly 20 years of experience in sales, business development and client services.
Small joined SecurityRI in November as a senior IT support manager, according to information on LinkedIn. His previous experience includes more than two years as an AMI systems analyst for Mueller Systems in Middleboro, Mass., and previous employment as an IT technician, sales engineer and network administrator.
Small holds an associate’s degree in electronic engineering and technology from Bristol Community College.
Both Gryta and Small complement SecurityRI’s team of IT experts available to clients 24/7 to update software, install antivirus software, back up data, train employees to identify and avoid cyber threats and establish closed networks to protect vulnerable information.
The FBI’s recent Computer Crime and Intellectual Study found that more than 4,000 ransomware attacks have occurred every day since the beginning of 2016, three times the number of attacks in 2015, SecurityRI said.
“While ransomware viruses like WannaCry continue to wreak havoc, businesses are finding themselves forced to re-evaluate security procedures to avoid falling victim to these attacks now and in the future,” said Marc Ranaldi, SecurityRI’s chief information officer. “The combined experience that Gryta and Small bring to our IT team, from full network integrations to extensive work on business processes and organizational design, helps us expand our focus on protecting our clients from devastating downtime and lost files.”
SecurityRI, a leader in the New England security industry for more than 35 years, specializes in comprehensive cybersecurity to protect businesses of all sizes, with full diagnostic and strategic planning to identify all vulnerabilities and ensure protection of confidential data and credentials.
“Our goal is to help businesses structure a proactive security plan and supply simple education and cautious online behavior tips that could help prevent most malware from infecting their network,” said Ranaldi.
