NEWPORT – The Southeastern New England Defense Industry Alliance’s fourth annual “Defense Innovation Days” will be held Aug. 28-30 at the Newport Marriott, Senedia announced Monday.
The three-day event, which highlights innovation and technology in the defense arena, is held with the intention of bringing together policymakers and defense companies.
U.S. Sen. Jack F. Reed will be the opening-day keynote speaker for the event. The senator has been a keynote speaker at all three previous Senedia DID events in the past.
U.S. Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse will be involved in a roundtable discussion on Aug. 29 with U.S. Reps. James R. Langevin and David N. Cicilline.
Gov. Gina M. Raimondo also is scheduled to speak at the event on its final day, Aug. 30.
“This event provides a forum where policymakers and business leaders in the defense space can engage and learn from one another,” said Molly Donohue Magee, Senedia executive director.
The event also includes speakers from various defense sectors, both public and private.
