PROVIDENCE – To celebrate their company’s sixth anniversary, on Tuesday, Jan. 2, Seven Stars Bakery owners Jim and Lynn Williams today announced they will donate 100 percent of sales that day directly to the Rhode Island Community Food Bank.
The bakery’s staff has also agreed to chip in, donating all their tips for the day.
“Our customers are very loyal and supportive,” Lynn Williams said. “On our bakery’s birthday, we wanted to give back to the community.”
Rosie Connors, director of development and communications for the Food Bank, responded to the announcement by saying, “We continue to be grateful for the strong support of the community. As we move further into the winter, the efforts of local businesses doing well in the community and giving back will help make a difference for struggling local families.”
Seven Stars – at 820 Hope St., on the East Side – has been baking artisan breads and breakfast pastries, and serving locally roasted coffee, since January 2001.
