Seven-story self-storage building
to be constructed in Providence

PROVIDENCE – A new, seven-story storage building to be erected near Interstate 95 this year is the first project by The Hampshire Cos., a private real estate investment firm, and Chicago-based Harrison Street, a real estate investment firm focused on the storage, education and health care sectors.

The partners plan to create modern self-storage facilities along the I-95 corridor in the Northeast, according to a news release. The Hampshire Cos. is based in Morristown, N.J.

According to a Hampshire spokesman, the storage facility at 145 Corliss St. will have 876 storage units and will cover 110,000 square feet.
