PROVIDENCE, RI (August 12, 2013)- Eighty people gathered Friday evening at Ada’s Creations/Macuto in South Providence for the 2nd book signing event for Tapping into The Hispanic Market: Engage – Connect – Innovate, a new book by Rhode Island business woman, Sixcia Devine. The event was hosted by the Rhode Island Latino Professional & Business Leaders Network.

Ms. Devine’s presentation, titled “Business Tips from an Inner-City Dominicana,” was heard by business people representing the financial, marketing, and mortgage sectors, as well as by new and emerging business owners. Sixcia shared her story of growing up in the inner-city and using her street smarts in her professional career to push her business forward and to inspire others to take action to grow their enterprises.  Sixcia also talked about the power of the Hispanic/Latino market  and the importance of using technology to reach and capture this growing business segment.

Yamil Baez, a World Language Teacher in the Central Falls School District focused on social entrepreneurship, commented afterward. “This was a great event that provided much needed inspiration and encouraged a spirit of community. Sixcia’s story helped reaffirm for us a very palpable belief in the potential of goodness of the human spirit.”

Devine’s new book is a practical, action-focused guide to the business, cultural, and language insights to help all businesses tap into Hispanic buying power, the fastest growing market segment in the U.S. Tapping into The Hispanic Market integrates learning, communications, and social interaction to foster practical and profitable results. The book also serves as an introduction to the social media tools, tips, and strategies to reach Hispanic/Latino consumers, business owners, and bridge the business communication gap to produce positive marketing experiences, and profits!
