Southcoast Health launches mobile app

NEW BEDFORD – Southcoast Health has launched a new mobile application to connect patients and families with direct access to medical providers and health care information, the community health network announced April 6.

The app, available now for both Apple and Android devices, aims to provide a “one-stop information hub” for navigating access to more than 650 providers in the Southcoast Health network throughout southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

“At Southcoast Health, we are constantly looking for ways to improve the consumer and patient experience by increasing access and convenience,” said Keith A. Hovan, president and CEO of Southcoast, in a release. “In today’s mobile world, an app is an important access point to the information that patients want at their fingertips.”

The Southcoast network includes Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River, St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford and Tobey Hospital in Wareham, Mass., as well as three urgent care centers.

With the new app, Southcoast patients can locate the nearest urgent care center, view its current wait time and reserve a spot in line directly from their mobile devices. Users can also access their health care information directly from the app, allowing them to check lab results, refill prescriptions, or communicate with their physician.

The Southcoast Health app is available for free download on iTunes and the Google Play store.
