StyleWeek Northeast will present its annual SEED competition featuring student designers from three schools in the region on Wednesday, January 30th, 2013 at the Providence Biltmore beginning at 5:30 p.m. Known for its innovative products, Swarovski will sponsor the ingenious event. Unlike traditional StyleWeek runway shows, SEED challenges student designers to create a one of a kind garment based on criteria set by a panel of judges comprised of industry professionals including Nylon Magazine. “One of StyleWeek’s missions is to always promote education in design. We created SEED as a vehicle to teach design students how to create a runway ready garment by being innovative and using their creative talent,” said Rosanna Ortiz Sinel, Founder and President of StyleWeek.

This year student designers will be asked to create a garment inspired by the five elements. The winner of the competition will receive a generous prize package that includes two months of StyleWeek PR, and the opportunity to have an installation at StyleWeek Northeast in August 2013. The event will kick off with a cocktail hour at 5:30p.m. and the runway show will follow at 7:00 p.m. Visit www.styleweeknortheast.com for more information.
