T.F. Green to get seasonal Nantucket route

WARWICK – A new flight service from Providence to Nantucket was announced Wednesday from Southern Airlines Express, the R.I. Airport Corp. announced Wednesday.

The company said it operates two dozen aircraft, including the Cessna Caravan and Grand Caravan, as well as the Piper Chieftain.

Service will begin from Providence on June 13 and will continue through Oct. 14. Flights will operate daily, except Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Tickets on the company’s website range from roughly $120 to $209 one way for the company’s cheapest flight option. The company has three ticket levels, “frugal,” “friendly” and “freedom,” which dictate boarding order, baggage allowed and to cancellation policies strictness. The highest option can be $299 one way.

The introduction of Southern Airways Express to T.F. Green and Nantucket marks the company’s first foray into New England routes, mainly operating in the Mid-Atlantic and the Gulf Region. The company also operates a route in California and routes in Hawaii.
