Taste of Pawtucket seeks to enroll restaurants

PAWTUCKET – City restaurants, caterers and bakeries are invited to join the Pawtucket Arts Festival in presenting its Taste of Pawtucket opening-night gala.

Participating restaurants must staff a booth provided by the gala committee, and distribute samples of food from their menus, providing enough food for 150 to 200 patrons.

“The gala committee has commitments from 10 of Pawtucket’s great restaurants and would like to add more,” festival organizers said in a statement. “Each establishment that participates will receive a major sponsorship acknowledgement.”

The gala is slated for Friday, Sept. 7, at the Blackstone Valley Visitors Center. From 6 to 8 p.m., guests will sample local treats as they listen to the music of the Gnomes. The Taste of Pawtucket will be followed by an outdoor concert – from 8 to 11, in the park next to Slater Mill – featuring the zydeco music of C.J. Chenier and the Red Hot Louisiana Band.
