PROVIDENCE – Introduction to SQL, or structured query language, which is used to communicate with a database, will be offered Aug. 22 from 6:30-9:30 p.m. at Tech Collective, 188 Valley St., Providence, according to the organization.
The workshop is $35 to attend, offered by tech-training group General Assembly.
Billed as a course for “absolute beginners,” the session walks attendees through SQL basics, offering tools for data analysis and handling.
Taught by General Assembly lead instructor Danny Kirschner, lecture and in-class exercises will present students with the ability to write common types of queries – how to filter, aggregate and summarize data, for example – and knowledge of SQL fundamentals.
Students are asked to bring a laptop with PostgreSQL and pgAdmin pre-installed. Instructions on installation are here.
Registration for the workshop can be made through this link.
