PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Sustainable Business Network of Rhode Island (SBNRI) in partnership with Project Get Ready Rhode Island, cordially invite you to a free demonstration of innovative, plug in electric vehicles.

The demonstration scheduled to take place Wednesday April 21, 2010 3:00 PM at the Apeiron Institute for Sustainable Living, 17 Gordon Avenue Providence, RI 02905 is part of SBNRI efforts to promote sustainability in Rhode Island in alignment with the Apeiron’s Institute 2001 vision of a Sustainable Rhode Island.

The demonstration will feature everything from low speed neighborhood electric vehicles manufactured by Miles Electric Vehicles, to a converted plug in Toyota Prius, to a high performance luxury all-electric Tesla Roadster sportscar.

The Tesla Roadster is being brought courtesy of the Renew America Roadtrip™ (RAR), which pioneered the first cross-country drive across the U.S. last summer in an all-electric Tesla Roadster. RAR will be offering raffles for roadtrip memorabilia and rocket-sled-like rides in their Roadster. They will be joining us as part of their latest campaign to raise money for charities and awareness of renewable, sustainable, and eco-friendly (RSE) technologies. The Miles Electric Vehicles are AC powered cars and trucks can be registered and are street legal in most states on any road with a speed limit of 35 MPH or lower. The advanced design AC power train is extremely reliable, with few moving parts, and offers superior power and hill climbing ability, even with a passenger or freight load www.milesev.com .

Imagine your city free from the strain of volatile gas prices, where quiet vehicles drive the street emitting zero air pollution. This is the promise of electrified vehicles, or “plug-ins”, one of the most important components of transitioning to a greener economy. These vehicles can be new or converted conventional vehicles, run wholly or partially on electricity and can reduce operating costs, air pollutant and greenhouse gas emissions, and dependence on oil. Early models already have hit the road in Asia. In the U.S., conversion shops have been retrofitting existing vehicles to be plug-ins and building low-speed EVs for several years at small, but fast increasing, volumes. Tens of thousands of factory-made plug-ins are expected to be available in the U.S. starting in late 2010 and 2011 .

BUZZ Equipment Company is the exclusive authorized representative in the northeast for the exciting, innovative, electric low speed vehicles manufactured by Miles Electric Vehicles, as well as the leading supplier for other alternative fuel vehicles, including electric, bio-diesel, and flex-fuel utility trucks.
