Use: The Wayfinder Hotel, which opened in May 2020 as a complete renovation of the former Mainstay Hotel by the Haynes Group Inc., is situated on 5 acres of land in Newport’s North End. The boutique-style hotel, a 102,000-square-foot property, features 197 spacious rooms, each ranging from 300 to 800 square feet. It has 30 suites offering a separate, semi-private sitting area with a full wet bar, microwave and refrigerator. Regionally focused amenities include handcrafted bath products from Newport’s Shore Soap and luxury linen, terry cloth, and bed-throws by John Matouk & Co. All the hotel’s public spaces and guest rooms feature a part of the collection of more than 1,000 pieces of artwork sourced from Rhode Island artists. The hotel’s signature restaurant, Nomi Park, was developed by Newport’s Mission Group. Additional amenities include a retail shop curated by Newport-based Bohemian Bias; a seasonal, outdoor pool; meeting and event spaces; free parking; a fitness center; a cafe and restaurant; and guest laundry.
