WARWICK – Thundermist Health Center presented The Washington Trust Co. with the 2019 Community Partnership Award during the center’s annual meeting on March 11.

Washington Trust Chairman and CEO Edward O. “Ned” Handy III accepted the award from Jeanne LaChance, president and CEO of Thundermist.

Thundermist, celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, is a community health center serving Woonsocket, West Warwick and South County. The Thundermist board of directors established the Community Partnership Award to recognize an organization that has provided exceptional support to the health center, according to a statement from Thundermist.

Washington Trust has long been a partner in helping Thundermist achieve its mission, recently supporting the expansion of the center’s West Warwick and Woonsocket facilities, Thundermist said. The expansion has helped the organization care for more than 48,000 patients.
