
PROVIDENCE – A tornado warning has been issued by the National Weather Service for east central Providence County, western central Bristol County, Mass, and southwestern Norfolk County, Mass., until 4 p.m. Tuesday.
The NWS advises residents in the area to take cover by moving to a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. The warning was triggered by a radar detection of rotation in a severe thunderstorm.

The warning indicates there could be flying debris and that damage to roofs windows and vehicles will occur. Tree damage was also said to be likely.
The storm will be near East Providence and Central Falls at 3:50 p.m., Pawtucket around 3:55 p.m., Cumberland, North Attleborough, Attleboro, Seekonk, Rehoboth and Plainville, Mass. around 4 p.m.
The warning also included the potential for hail.
