MIDDLETOWN – WiMAX provider Towerstream Corp. today announced that its common stock will begin trading on the Nasdaq Capital Market tomorrow morning under the symbol TWER.
To commemorate the move, Towerstream President and CEO Jeff Thompson will ring the opening bell for the Nasdaq stock market at 9:30 a.m. Friday. The ceremony may be viewed live on June 1, beginning at 9:15 a.m., by visiting www.nasdaq.com.
“The Nasdaq Capital Market [formerly known as the Nasdaq SmallCap Market] furthers Towerstream’s progression from a startup wireless company to a leading technology provider,” Thompson said. The move will increase the company’s liquidity, he said, while also bringing “added visibility” and “greater exposure with institutional investors.”
Meanwhile, until the market’s close tonight, Towerstream’s common stock will continue to trade as TWER.OB on the NASD over-the-counter bulletin board, where it began trading on Jan. 26.
Towerstream Corp. is a provider of WiMax wireless broadband services to businesses of all sizes in the New York, Chicago, Miami, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Boston and Providence/Newport markets. Additional information is available at www.towerstream.com.
