Two developments renovated through Housing Preservation and Production Program financing

PROVIDENCE – Renovations recently were completed on two senior- and disabled-housing developments, with financing provided by the Rhode Island Housing Preservation and Production Program.
A joint project affecting Aaron Briggs Manor and Cherry Hill Apartments, which accommodate low-income seniors, received the first distribution of funding from the state program, according to a news release.
The so-called “Cherry Briggs” project included modernization of outdated kitchens and bathrooms, life-safety-system upgrades, new windows and siding and energy efficient installations.
Aaron Briggs Manor is an 88-unit senior-and-disabled housing development in the West End neighborhood, at the edge of Federal Hill. Cherry Hill Apartments is a 72-unit development for seniors and disabled residents in Johnston.
Both are owned and operated by the Boston-based nonprofit Preservation of Affordable Housing.
