United Way of R.I. makes $3M available to local organizations

PROVIDENCE – United Way of Rhode Island Inc. is making $3 million in annual funding available via its Community Impact Fund for nonprofits across the state.

United Way said organizations can apply for up to $75,000 in annual funding over three years from 2023 until 2026. The organization said the proposals should align with priorities noted in United Way’s “Live United 2025” strategic plan, including education, social justice and aiding people of color communities.

The funding availability comes after the United Way and the Grantmakers Council of Rhode Island released their survey findings, noting that local nonprofits are dealing with financial and staffing problems.

Interested organizations have until Jan. 29, 2023, to submit their funding proposals. Applications are available on United Way’s website.
