University Orthopedics opens new care facility

PROVIDENCE – For the second time this year, University Orthopedics has opened a new care center to meet a growing demand for orthopedic services.

The new, 35,600-square-foot facility, at 100 Butler Drive, has offices for nine on-site physicians, plus physical therapists, physical therapy facilities, a gym and networked digital imaging systems, including on-site MRI.

Earlier this year, University Orthopedics opened an expanded facility in East Greenwich. In a news release, David Pezzullo, director of physical therapy for the practice, said demand for orthopedic services is driven by a rapidly growing over-50 population, a large community of sports participants, and the need for specialized treatments. •
