Upton replaces Ledwidge as CEO of St. Anne’s C.U.

FALL RIVER – St. Anne’s Credit Union of Fall River today announced the appointment of a new president and CEO, Ross R. Upton of Mattapoisett, its chief financial officer for the past 15 years.
He succeeds John R. Ledwidge, St. Anne’s president and CEO for the past 11 years, who announced his retirement on March 30 at the credit union’s annual meeting.
“During Jack’s presidency,” Albert E. Mercier, chairman of the credit union board of trustees, said in a statement today, “St. Anne’s has grown consistently and considerably – in both membership and asset size – and has extended its geographic footprint in order to offer the St. Anne’s brand of financial services to more and more people in Bristol, Plymouth and Barnstable counties.”
Upton was elected at a special meeting of the credit union board of directors, Mercier said. Before joining St. Anne’s in 1993, he had served for more than 20 years as treasurer and senior vice president of a state-chartered savings bank in Massachusetts.
“Ross has served the credit union well during his 15-year tenure here,” Mercier said. “He has the vision and leadership qualities to take us to new heights in the future.”
Upton is a frequent lecturer and teacher for the Credit Union Association’s classes and seminars and a panelist for industry workshops. He also teaches at Babson College’s Center for Executive Education, where he offers a course in asset liability and investments.
A native of Bristol County, he received his bacholor’s degree at the University of Massachusetts–Dartmouth, and went on to earn an MBA and an MST in taxation, both from Bryant College.
