URI College of Nursing appoints new associate dean

PROVIDENCE – Former Butler Hospital chief of nursing Mary Leveillee was named associate dean of the University of Rhode Island’s College of Nursing in a late January release from the school.

“We are delighted to have such an exceptional and talented individual join the URI College of Nursing,” said Barbara Wolfe, dean of the College of Nursing, in prepared remarks. “Leveillee brings a wealth of leadership experience to this role.”

An East Greenwich resident, Leveillee earned her doctorate and master’s degrees in nursing from URI in 2012 and 1991, respectively. She joined the URI faculty in 2000 teaching undergraduate psychiatric and mental health nursing. Her research focuses on women’s issues, eating disorders and nurse-client relationships.

She holds adult psychiatric and mental health clinical nurse specialist board certification from the American Nurses Credentialing Center, among other honors, and is currently pursuing a doctor of nursing practice degree from George Washington University.
