SOUTH KINGSTOWN – Dr. Chris Van Hemelrijck has joined Thundermist Health Center of South County as a primary care provider at the company’s Health Center at 1 River St., where he’s seeking new patients.
Van Hemelrijck has nearly 40 years of medical experience. His medical background includes internal and emergency medicine, Thundermist reported.
“The community of South County means a lot to me,” said Van Hemelrijck. “My family is here, and I have spent many years caring for this community. Thundermist has deep roots in caring for the community of South County and I am proud to be a part of this team once again.”
Van Hemelrijck previously worked for Thundermist from 1989-1991 at the Woonsocket location. Before joining Thundermist of South County, he worked as an emergency department provider at South County Health.
He is a graduate of New York Medical College, where he received his doctor of medicine. He completed an internal medicine residency at Hartford Hospital in Hartford, Conn. Van Hemelrijck is board-certified in internal and emergency medicine.
