Victor gearing up for textile production in F.R.

SAINT-GEORGES, Quebec – Victor Innovatex Inc. today announced the hiring of two senior executives for the new Victor Innovative Textiles of Fall River, the subsidiary Victor created after purchasing the assets of the former Quaker Fabric Corp., which it said will begin local manufacturing later this month.
“I am very pleased to have Bea Spires and Duncan Whitehead join our management team,” Victor President and CEO Alain Duval said in a statement. “With the collective expertise of these two industry leaders completing our management team, Victor Innovative Textiles is well positioned to maintain a strong development and manufacturing presence in the United States.”
Spires will be heading the Design Group at Victor Innovative Textiles. She is a noted fabric designer who has developed a library of more than 35,000 textile designs.
Whitehead – whom the company described as a globally recognized innovator in yarn, weaving and finishing technologies – will be heading the company’s Research and Development, Domestic Operations and Global Sourcing.
The new company “continues to hire engineering and manufacturing associates for the start-up process, which is expected to be completed by mid-October, when initial fabric production will begin” in Fall River, Victor said.
Also today, the parent company announced it has renewed Quaker’s former partnership with China-based Zhongwang, for the design and supply of the “Quaker Global Line.”
