PROVIDENCE – Vistaprint Corporate Solutions, the Waltham-headquartered print and design company, is creating a national sales office in Providence, Gov. Gina M. Raimondo announced on Wednesday.
This comes as part of a greater movement from the Raimondo admiration’s effort to utilize business incentives to grow the Rhode Island economy.

“It’s exciting that yet another leading global company has chosen to move to Providence,” said Elorza in a statement. “When companies discover all that our city has to offer, they tend to fall in love. I thank Governor Raimondo for her leadership and I welcome Vistaprint Corporate to our thriving, resurgent city.”
According to a release, Vistaprint Corporate will be eligible to receive $2.2 million over the next 10 years under the Qualified Jobs Incentive Act, with additional credits available if the company creates 275 jobs by 2023. The application will be voted on by the Investment Committee and the full board of the R.I. Commerce Corp.
After the conference with Raimondo, Vistaprint Corporate President Don Leblanc talked to PBN.
Leblanc said the office will employ 125 workers over the next three years, with an estimated median salary of $50,000 to $70,000, though he admitted that due to the nature of commission sales jobs, those numbers are only estimates. Given the nature of the office, it is no surprise then that the jobs will be primarily in sales, but Leblanc noted there will also be some design jobs coming with the office.
According to Leblanc, the expansion into Providence is an effort to dramatically grow Vistaprint’s sales team and the establishment of a national sales office is a step in that direction.
While the office will be in Providence, the exact location of the office hasn’t been announced just yet. The company has not yet signed a lease, but Leblanc expects the company to announce the location in the coming weeks.
According to Leblanc, Providence wasn’t the only place the company looked to establish the office. Vistaprint had scouted all around New England, particularly in more rural areas, drawn by lower overhead. However, he said the low cost of rural locations lacked what Providence has: a young, college-educated talent pool. The reality of it, he said, was “the tax incentives leveled the playing field and made it an easy decision.”
Of choosing Providence, Commerce Secretary Stefan Pryor said, “Vistaprint Corporate had options when it considered where to expand. Rhode Island emerged as the strategic choice for Vistaprint due to our deep pool of talent, positive business climate and potent economic-development tools. Vistaprint Corporate’s growth here in the Ocean State will bring new job opportunities for Rhode Islanders and will increase our state’s economic momentum.”
Vistaprint Corporate Solutions is a business unit of Cimpress.
