WARWICK – The Washington Trust Co. donated $50,000 to the Station Fire Memorial Foundation, the bank announced Wednesday morning.

The foundation has been raising funds for a Station Fire Memorial Park at the site of the former The Station nightclub in West Warwick, in remembrance of the 100 people that lost their lives during a fire on Feb. 20, 2003.

The park is scheduled to open on May 21. According to WPRI-TV CBS 12, the park will feature a courtyard, gardens, a walkway and a stone with each victim’s name.

Joseph MarcAurele, Washington Trust chairman and CEO, is a member of the Station Fire Memorial Park campaign leadership committee.
