WaterFire plans Sept. 8 Tech Nite with resource fair

PROVIDENCE – WaterFire Providence will host a technology night along Steeple Street Sept. 8, with Providence-based Virgin Pulse as the founding lead sponsor. Tech job opportunities will be highlighted, along with speakers discussing the state’s tech ecosystem.

“The goals of the event are to increase awareness of local entrepreneurial and employment opportunities in technology, promote networking and collaboration among technology industry employees, and showcase some of the innovative products and services being pioneered in Rhode Island,” WaterFire said in a press release.

“This event sits at the intersection of community, economic development and technology, which aligns perfectly with Virgin Pulse’s new role as a major high-tech employer in downtown Providence,” said Virgin Pulse CEO David Osborne.

Virgin Pulse is joined by founding sponsors Slater Technology Fund, eMoney Advisor and Ximedica, along with contributing sponsors Bay Computer Associates, Bridge Technical Talent, IntraCity Geeks’ CareerDevs Academy, Tech Collective and VoltServer, said WaterFire organizers.
