Child & Family’s Rhode Island Care Management Network (RICMN) and WaytogoRI.org announce WaytogoRI.org Kick-Off. Both organizations have joined forces to offer under-served youth and families, throughout the State of Rhode Island, the opportunity to explore careers, create resumes/cover letters, research financial aid and scholarships, develop and review high school plans, prepare for SAT’s and much more.

Many students already use this interactive website through their high schools. However, many youth served by social service community-based and residential programs do not have access to these important education and career development tools. This program will provide them with the access needed to explore and connect with future growth opportunities.

About Rhode Island Care Management Network
The RICMN is comprised of five well-established organizations that serve youth and families referred by the Rhode Island Department of Children, Youth and Families. This partnership included Child & Family, The Providence Center, and Communities for People, The Key Program, Inc., and Community Solutions, Inc.

This uniquely integrated system of care operates on strong values and family involvement. It provides community linkages and outcome-based measures to ensure continuous improvements in services delivery. The RICMN maintains youth in their homes or when placement with a family is not feasible, in their own community

About WaytogoRI.org
WaytogoRI.org is a free Internet-based program that helps students, parents and educators explore education options, discover a wide variety of occupations, and make plans to achieve education and career goals from school or from home!

The portal provides Rhode Island students with lots of cool interactive career and college planning tools that will help them find the career that best fits their passion and interests. There are also a wide range of Career Assessment tools such as the Interest Profiler, Career Cluster, Basic Skills Survey and Works Value Sorter.

These tools asks questions about user’s interests and values, then provides them with a listing of careers that may be a perfect match for them. They will then get detailed information on that career such as education levels needed, salary expectations and employment statistics. Some careers also have video and interviews with professionals in that field.

WaytogoRI.org also has a Career Cluster field that will allow users to pick and choose the careers that they would like to research. They can pick two or more careers and compare them side by side. Finally, it allows them to create a career plan to get them on the right path to a successful future.
