Weisenfeld appointed president of Jewelers Board of Trade

PROVIDENCE – Richard Weisenfeld has been appointed president of the Jewelers Board of Trade, the JBT board of directors announced Friday.

Weisenfeld has served on the JBT board for 17 years and previously served as chairman of the board in 2014-2015. He also worked at companies in the jewelry industry for more than 45 years, including most recently at Riva Precision Manufacturing in Brooklyn, N.Y., according to the JBT.

“I eagerly look forward to working with Richard,” stated Michal Kaplan, JBT board chairman. “He comes from a very fine jewelry family and has been involved in our industry for all of his working life.”

JBT is a nonprofit member-owned association that delivers commercial credit information, collections, marketing services, and data and statistics on retail, wholesale and manufacturing jewelers. Its stated mission is to promote the welfare of its members by providing accurate information, effective collection services and education.

Weisenfeld replaces Anthony J. Capuano who has retired from the position.
