PROVIDENCE – The Fertile Underground community-supported grocery store in the West End has pushed back plans to open until just before Thanksgiving, the non-profit organizers announced Wednesday. The store has discussed a soft opening Oct. 20.
The Fertile Underground cited ongoing permitting and construction at the building at 1577 Westminster St. for the delayed opening.
The Fertile Underground grocery project is based on the community-supported-agriculture model where customers buy a share of a farmer’s crop, which is distributed to them each week.
