PROVIDENCE – The Eat Drink RI LLC West Park Food Hall Kickstarter campaign has been funded, surpassing its $119,000 fundraising goal. The campaign ended at 12 p.m. Wednesday and resulted in $123,656 with 604 backers.
The project aims to create a Providence-based food hall in the Smith Hill neighborhood at 233 West Park St. According to the project’s description, the site will feature multiple small restaurants, community seating, a bar and a rooftop deck.
“[I] want to thank most all of the great friends and members of the food community that gave us the rewards all the backers bought,” said David Dadekian, the owner and founder of Eat Drink RI.
The project featured backer rewards from the local food and beverage community, including The Dorrance, birch, Narragansett Beer, Ocean State Sandwich Co. and many others.
The Eat Drink RI team said it will use the money raised as follows:
- Refine pro forma
- Architectural design
- Site improvement specific to the Food Hall and production floor
- Branding, logo design
- Legal: lease structure, permits and licensing
The project also had stretch goals as described below:
- Build out a food truck park in the Food Hall parking lot to open in spring 2018. Build out to include staffing, tent, community seating, and parking.
- Develop commercial kitchen on lower level of Food Hall building for internal or external use.
- Research and development for a co-packing facility in the industrial space
