PROVIDENCE – Ray Iannuccillo, of North Providence, and Jennifer Smith, of Swansea, both pharmacists at Women & Infants Hospital, have recently achieved advanced certification within the pharmacy profession.
Iannuccillo, who has worked at Women & Infants for eight years, is now a board-certified pharmacotherapy specialist from the Board of Pharmacy Specialists.
BCPS is a credential for pharmacists who have met eligibility criteria to ensure safe, appropriate and economical use of medications in a variety of settings, including hospitals and health systems. This certification validates that the pharmacist has the advanced knowledge and experience to improve patient outcomes.
Smith, who has worked at Women & Infants for 10 years, completed the Sterile Product Preparation Training and Certificate Program of the American Society of Health System Pharmacists. According to ASHP, this certification was designed “to recognize the importance of aseptic processing and develop the knowledge and skills necessary to prepare sterile products safely and effectively.”
