Kate Naranjo was going through her own challenges with women’s and reproductive health and didn’t feel as though she was getting the support she needed.
“We’re not broken,” Naranjo said of women seeking answers to some of their most pressing questions on fertility, hormonal, postpartum and overall health. “We’re just not informed. We certainly didn’t learn these things in sex ed.”
Naranjo started Bird & Bee, a self-funded startup that began last year, which pairs integrative health coaching with hormonal health and cycle charting for a full-body approach to women’s health and wellness. She has four employees that work for the brand so far, including one medical provider and three integrative health coaches. They spend up to two hours a month with face-to-face contact with each of their clients.
In some cases, clients are looking for a holistic approach to health that doesn’t require a prescription slip. In other cases, the Bird & Bee team will connect clients with a network of medical professionals that Naranjo built.
“I want someone to understand what is going on with their body. To do that, we have to disrupt the narrative to women’s health by making them feel empowered instead of confused,” said Naranjo.
