SMITHFIELD – The 21st Bryant University Women’s Summit was once again a sold-out event, as the program designed to empower women in their careers as well as in their lives welcomed more than 1,000 women to the college campus for a day of seminars and lectures.
In addition to the programs, which revolved around the theme of “Rise to the Challenge & Reach New Heights,” the summit organizers recognized Suzanne Bates as the 2018 New England Businesswoman of the Year. Bates founded Wellesley, Mass.-based Bates, a leadership-development firm, in 2000, following a career as a television journalist. In addition to developing a research-based executive tool, Bates ExPI, she published “Speak Like a CEO: Secrets for Commanding Attention and Getting Results.”
Keynote presentations were given by Jennifer Hyman, co-founder and CEO of Rent the Runway; Nely Galan, former president of entertainment for Telemundo; and Brigid Schulte, former Washington Post journalist and founding director of The Good Life Initiative.
