WRScompass Promotes Richard Santello to CEO and Names Him to Board of Directors;

Company Names F. Philip Handy Chairman of the Board

TAMPA, FL (March 13, 2013) – WRScompass’s Board of Directors announced today that Richard Santello has been promoted to Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and appointed to the company’s Board. In addition, F. Philip Handy has been named Chairman of the Board.

 

Santello joined WRScompass as President in 2009. In 2011, he was also named Chief Operating Officer, expanding his responsibilities to include all of WRScompass’s operations: construction and remediation, legal, finance, sales and marketing, safety, and human resources. Recently, Santello completed a two-year repositioning of the company.  

 

“Rich has led WRScompass to become a stronger, more nimble and more competitive company than it has ever been,” said Handy, who has served on the WRScompass board since 2007. “He has infused the company with a sharper strategic focus while maintaining its unwavering commitment to customer service and safety.”

 

Santello has nearly 28 years of experience in the environmental arena with strong operations experience in remediation, and hazardous and nuclear materials work management. His educational background is in chemical engineering.

During his career, Santello has served as President or in senior leadership roles at a number of companies, including: President of EnviroSource Technologies, an environmental remediation and nuclear and hazardous waste management company; Chairman and CEO of MHF Logistical Solutions, a waste and hazardous materials transportation company; and Senior Vice President of Clean Harbors, the largest environmental and hazardous waste management company in North America. 

Handy is the CEO of Strategic Industries, a portfolio of companies in diversified service and manufacturing businesses. He also serves on the boards of directors of Anixter International, a global provider of communications, and wire and cable products; Owens Corning, a building materials provider, and a number of non-profit organizations.

WRScompass specializes in environmental remediation and civil construction. The company performs a wide range of services including: landfill cap and closure, in-situ stabilization, decontamination and demolition, sediment remediation, wetlands restoration and flood control.  WRScompass owns a $20 million fleet of equipment, and has services centers across the country.
