AAA, Energy Office surveys find gasoline prices continue to decrease

Gasoline prices in Rhode Island have dropped again, according to surveys released by AAA Southern New England and the State Energy Office.

According to AAA’s July 9 survey, the average price per gallon of self-serve, regular unleaded gasoline is $1.64 — down 3 cents from $1.67 a week ago. Prices for self-serve midgrade, premium and diesel gasoline are averaging $1.74, $1.82 and $1.61, respectively, the survey found.

The auto club’s July 9 survey found the average price per gallon of full-serve, regular unleaded gasoline to be $1.68 — down 8 cents from $1.76 a week ago. Prices for full-serve midgrade, premium and diesel gasoline are averaging $1.78, $1.88 and $1.67, respectively.

The State Energy Office’s July 9 survey found the average price per gallon of self-serve, regular unleaded gasoline to be $1.68, compared to $1.70 a week ago. The office found this week’s average price per gallon of full-serve, regular unleaded gasoline to be $1.83, compared to $1.85 a week ago.
