Are local malls enough of an attraction to make you visit, not only during the holidays but throughout the year?

Despite dire predictions of their imminent demise for much of the past decade, there are as many malls today nationally as there has ever been, according to the International Council of Shopping Centers.

But their growth has slowed dramatically in the last decade. And UBS Group AG sees 75,000 stores closing nationally by 2026, due to online shopping.

Local malls are fighting back by focusing on unique retailers and using events and entertainment, rather than just shopping, to attract customers. Is it working?

Are local malls doing enough to make you visit? Or do you still see them as primarily about shopping, which you prefer to do elsewhere?
