TAUNTON – Bristol County Savings Bank’s charitable foundation has committed $150,000 to support the renovation of a Plainville building into a new day-services center for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
The three-year grant will support Attleboro Enterprises Inc.’s $4 million renovation of the building at 300 South St. into the Plainville Program Center, the Taunton-based bank announced Sept. 8.
The North Attleboro-based nonprofit said its existing facility has reached capacity, with some services moved off-site to make room. The Plainville center is expected to create space for about 165 additional individuals to participate in day programs.
The center will include a cafeteria; teaching kitchen; wellness center; a sensory-friendly, low-stimulation space; nursing station; and meeting and classroom areas. Plans also call for outdoor space, including a playing field, meditation garden, sensory garden and patios.
Attleboro Enterprises provides day services, employment training and job placement, residential services and other programs for adults with cognitive and physical challenges. The organization is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities.
The Bristol County Savings Charitable Foundation has committed more than $38 million to nonprofit organizations since it was established in 1996.
In 2025, it awarded $2.9 million to 501(c)(3) organizations.
The bank operates branches in southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island, including Providence, Pawtucket, Cumberland and Smithfield.
