SMITHFIELD, R.I. (Jan. xx, 2012) – Chaplain (Col.) Leslie R. Hyder, director of the Air National Guard Chaplain Corps headquartered at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland, will be the keynote speaker at Bryant University’s 16th annual Interfaith Prayer Breakfast, which will be held on Monday, Feb. 13, from 7:30-8:30 a.m. in the Stepan Grand Hall of the Bello Center for Information and Technology on the Bryant campus, 1150 Douglas Pike.
The cost to attend is $7 per person. (Bryant students may use their meal plan to attend; students who are not on the meal plan may attend at no charge.) To make a reservation, call 401-232-6045 or send e-mail to amaciej@bryant.edu.
An ordained Presbyterian minister and member of the special staff of the Air National Guard director, Chaplain Hyder advises on all matters pertaining to the religious and moral welfare of Air National Guard staff. Also, he is responsible for recruiting, training and maintaining a chaplain program to meet the religious needs of all members of the Air National Guard, their family members, and other authorized persons. His travels have taken him to the Middle East, Antarctica and Landstuhl Army Hospital, where U.S. troops wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan are taken.
The Interfaith Prayer Breakfast, patterned after the annual National Prayer Breakfast held in Washington, D.C., is designed to give attendees an inspirational hour of music, prayer and a spiritual message.
In case of inclement weather, the event will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 14, from 7:30-8:30 a.m.
